The
Wonderful thing about the former Empress of Iran is that she has not allowed
her fall from position and power to change her over the years, nor shown
rancor or bitterness over the tragic chain of events that resulted in her
late husband's being bounced from the Peacock Throne, forced to seek asylum
in any country which would would have him. There is not a pretentious bone
in her body, nor was there one when she was the Shah's most brilliant asset,
dazzling the world with her charm and exotic beauty. She is a wise person
indeed who knows how to handle power, and an ever wiser one who knows how
to handle loss of power.
