Dear Compatriots:
Once again, through violence, the leaders of the Islamic Republic
mean to choke the voice of
our youth and compatriots, who are only desirous of the most basic of social rights. In
different guises, their reactionary agents, both outside and inside the universities,
bloody our youth, drag them to prison and torture them.
In these days, and as an Iranian mother, I stand by you with all my being; you, our
Iranian youth, for whom I feel as I would for my own children. You are the flower of our
youth and our society, the builders of Iran's future, and I with how much sincerity and
selflessness you struggle for the freedom of your country and the future of your
compatriots. You, the youth of our homeland, either inside or outside Iran, have had no
hand in the many troubles our country is experiencing now, and all you desire is to gain
the needed dignity and freedom to enable you to undo its current misfortunes. Rest assured
that we, the community of Iranians abroad, support the struggle for freedom of all our
compatriots with one voice and heart. Our heart beats only for Iran and its people.
In its long and momentous history and in its moments of trial, Iranian society has shown
itself endowed with such hidden strengths and talents that it has often left observers in
awe. It is because of these abilities and strengths that we, unlike many others, have been
able to preserve our history, language, culture and national identity, despite all the
onslaughts and invasions by outsiders. Because of these latent strengths and inner fires,
we see today that the cries and sounds of the march of our students, men, women and youth
have been heard around the globe.
Once again, I am sure that in this coming millennium, our ancient Iran will, by the
efforts of its youth and by drawing on its deep-rooted historical and social values
together with the scientific and social achievements of today and tomorrow, usher into a
great new era it so richly deserves.
Dear Children of mine, Almighty God is your Protector.
