Remembering Lesley Blanch

I would like to thank Ms.
Georgia de Chamberet for giving me the opportunity to participate
in this celebration of the life of Lesley Blanch.
Lesley Blanch was a formidable individual who impressed me with her sensitivity,
intelligence,
and charm. I fondly recall the time she came to Iran me in order to gather
material for my biography.
We met and talked for many hours, and travelled together visiting different
regions within Iran.
We found many subjects of mutual interest, and I felt very comfortable in her
presence and with her perceptions.
Looking back after thirty years and after all that has happened to my country,
my compatriots and my life; I am
very pleased that such a brilliant personality as Lesley Blanch wrote a book
about me. Browsing through the book
recently I re-read the last lines, and would like to say thank you Lesley, I
will never forget you.
